how to play jam jar

Jam jar is a free fruit merging game with real physics. Drop fruit into a jar. When two of the same fruit touch, they merge into the next size up, all the way from a blueberry to a melon. Keep the pile below the line.

  1. Move your finger or mouse to aim, then let go (or click) to drop the fruit.
  2. Two matching fruits that touch merge into the next fruit up. Bigger merges score more.
  3. The small preview at the top shows which fruit comes next.
  4. If fruit stays above the dashed line for a moment, the jar overflows and the game ends.

Keyboard: Left and right arrows aim, Space, Enter or the down arrow drops, and Esc goes back to the menu.

tips

  • Keep small fruit away from the walls of big fruit; they get stuck.
  • Build up one side with big fruit and let the small ones chain on the other.
  • Check the next fruit before dropping. Two drops planned beat one.

What's the order of the fruit?

Blueberry, cherry, lime, plum, kiwi, orange, apple, peach, coconut, pineapple, melon. Only the first five ever drop; the rest you make.

How is it scored?

Making a fruit scores its place in the order as a triangle number: a cherry is 3, a melon is 66.
