Short version: there are no accounts, we don't sell personal information, and nothing beyond your own browser is used unless you say yes.

what's stored on your device

Your scores, streaks, beans, theme, sound setting and cookie choices are saved in your own browser (local storage). They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

your cookie choices

Nothing on the site uses cookies or similar technology yet, so there's no banner to answer. Once analytics or ads are switched on, a banner will ask first whether we may use them: accept turns both on, reject turns both off, and choices lets you pick one. A "do not sell or share my personal info" link at the bottom of every page will let you change your answer any time.

Under the hood we use Google Consent Mode. Before anything else on the page loads, every consent signal (analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization) is set to denied, and each one switches to granted only if you accept it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, accepting still leaves personalized ads off.

analytics

Analytics isn't switched on yet, so nothing is measured. When it is, it will be Google Analytics 4, it will load only after you accept analytics, and it will record page views and a handful of game events (a game starting, a round ending, a game ending, a share, an ad space being seen) with the game, mode, difficulty and score. Never your initials or anything you type.

ads

There are no ads on the site yet. When ads go live, this page will name the ad network first, and each ad gets a space of its own size, so nothing jumps around when it arrives. Ads are never placed over a game. Until you accept personalized ads, any ads you see are non-personalized: they can depend on the page you're on, not on a profile of you. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked through a Google-certified consent tool before any ads load for them.

do not sell or share my personal info

We don't sell personal information. Under some US state laws, such as California's, personalized ads count as "sharing", so rejecting, or turning personalized ads off under choices, opts you out. Nothing is shared today, so the link that reopens your choices appears at the bottom of every page once analytics or ads are on.

dare links

A dare link contains the game seed, the difficulty, your score and, only if you type them, up to three initials. You decide who gets it.

minitopias

Minitopias, at imboredrn.com/minitopias, is its own page without any of the above: no cookie banner, no ads and no Google Analytics. Your island is saved in your own browser (local storage and the browser's database) and never leaves your device. To see how the game is doing, it can send counts to GoatCounter: which link brought you (the Instagram bio, YouTube, itch.io, another site or none), roughly how long the game took to load and which graphics level your device ran, whether you came back (worked out from your save, on your device), moments like pressing play, a first job, a first discovery, each new age and the ending (with roughly how long each took), and taps on share cards, the tip jar, follow and more games. Each count is a fixed name, like "first-discovery": no ids, nothing from your island and nothing you type. GoatCounter sees the basics of each count (browser, screen size and country) but uses no cookies and doesn't store your IP address. Counting is off until the site's GoatCounter account is set up. Names you give your Minis stay on your device and never go on a share card. The tip jar opens Buy Me a Coffee (buymeacoffee.com/gillo) only when you tap it; anything you do there follows Buy Me a Coffee's own terms and privacy policy.

children

The site is for everyone. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Games made with younger players in mind (flapjack, jam jar, keepy uppy, line of defense, royal mess, hop along, noodle) never send analytics, and ads on them will be requested as child-directed, which rules out personalized ads.
