how to play triplets
Triplets is a free tile matching puzzle in twenty levels. A pile of tiles sits in layers. Tap a free tile to drop it into the tray, and three of the same symbol clear away. The tray only has seven slots, so dig carefully. Every pile is built around a known way to clear it, so every level can be won.
- Tap any bright tile. Dim tiles are still covered by something above them.
- The tile flies into the tray at the bottom, next to any tiles with the same symbol.
- Three of a kind in the tray clear away. Clear the whole pile to finish the level.
- If all seven slots fill up, put the last three back and keep going, or start the same pile over.
- A clean clear earns three stars. Each undo or put-back is a helper: one or two helpers earn two stars, more earn one.
Keyboard: Tab moves between the free tiles, Enter or Space picks one, Z undoes, Enter puts three back when the tray is full, R restarts, L opens the levels, and Esc goes back to the menu.
tips
- Before you tap, look for symbols you can finish. A pair in the tray is half a match.
- Tiles peeking out from under the top layer tell you what's coming. Plan for them.
- Keep two or three slots free. The tray glows amber at five and red at six.
faq
Can every pile be cleared?
Yes. We build each pile around a clearing order that never fills the tray, and our checker replays it before the game ships.
How do the levels get harder?
Level 1 is eighteen tiles and three symbols. Later levels are wider, stacked higher and use more symbols, up to eleven, so more of what you need is buried.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you like. Stars only count helpers.
